    The Holiday Season

I know it has been a very long time since the last time that I wrote a blog entry, but there is no time like the Holiday season to write one.

It has been a very interesting time for me this year.  The end of this year has not changed that.  My holiday vacation started this year with a brief visit to Indianapolis.  That was a very good time.  I wish that I didn't have to ruin most of the days working on stuff from work that should have been done weeks ago.  I went there to visit my friend Linda.  It was originally going to be a complete surprise; showing up at her work.  I thought it was a great idea, but a couple of days before I was to go, I had to let the cat out of the bag.  She was going to have to work both nights that I was going to be in town and well, that wouldn't have been as much fun.  It was a good thing that I did tell her though, there was a few details that we had to work out that I had not originally thought of.  All in all, a very nice visit.

From Indy, I flew down to the panhandle of Florida to visit my best friend and his wife, and to spend the Christmas holiday with them.  Aside from the manual labor that I had to perform in helping him tile the addition to their home, it was a great visit.  Each day here has been extremely relaxing.  It is exactly what I needed to end the year.  Every once in a while, real life attempted to creep back into my days here, but for the most part, I've been able to avoid it.  The days here have been filled with reading, tiling, great food and tons of college football.  Every time I get the privilege to spend time with them, I realize why I love them and I hate to have to leave today.

As real life once again encroaches on my existence, I look back to my time with my friends and family that I've been able to enjoy since coming home and I'm extremely grateful that I'm bless with the greatest people to surround myself with.  I miss you all.
